Personal profile:

Dr Clare Kell.

EdD, PFHEA, FSEDA, MCSP.

Strategic developer, educator, mentor and researcher. Qualified ADHD Coach.

My Experience and Expertise:

I am a Strategic Leader, Change Facilitator, Researcher, Mentor, Educational Developer, ADHD Coach and Chartered Physiotherapist. Based in South Wales, I work nationally and internationally. With 30 years’ experience working with and learning from colleagues across the tertiary education sector, my practice is underpinned by inclusion, co-creation, research-informed enquiry and critical curiosity.

I am an expert in strategic team leadership with experience, as a former Director, in designing, instigating, evaluating and supporting transformational practice change in complex environments through restructuring, strategic and financial planning, policy development and review, and forecasting and risk management.

With 15 years’ experience leading credit- and non-credit bearing development programmes for HE staff, I undertake critical programme reviews, offer interim support to cover vacancies or strengthen teaching teams as a tutor, and mentor new staff transitioning into EdDev roles.

An AdvanceHE Accreditor since 2007, current AdvanceHE PSF2023 Consultant, External Scheme and PgC Examiner, PFHEA holder and assessor for both the National Teaching Fellowship (NTFS) and Collaborative Awards for Teaching Excellence (CATE), I have experience successfully coaching and mentoring colleagues, across career pathways, for all categories of PSF2023 Fellowship, AdvanceHE accredited scheme development, External Award applications and career journeying more broadly.

I also have a passion for, and expertise in, developing and mainstreaming research-informed critical enquiry as a core to practice. I have designed and led schemes of staff development to strengthen capacity in research-informed critical practice enquiry and colleague co-creation including successful intuition-wide approaches to peer observation and practice enquiry.

I undertake regular journal co-editing and reviewing, PhD/EdD assessing and networking and CPD activities to inform my practice and service offers. With Prof. Karen Heard-Lauréote, I am the co-founder of the successful Network for Education Enhancement Consultants (NEEC).

Beyond HE I am a Trustee for two Charities: Agored Cymru (Chair, Quality Committee) and the CSP Charitable Trust.
